- Possible chronic illnesses. In Chronic Illness Club9 January 2024Obligatory not a doctor, purely arm chair diagnosing, but have you looked into Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome? Sounds remarkably close to all the symptoms you're having. Also possibly a related diagnosis of POTS?31

- Possible POTS questionsIn Chronic Illness Club15 December 2023That pretty much sounds like the main symptom of POTS. If it happens almost every time you stand up, I would definitely bring it up with a doctor as that is not normal. Other people without POTS can also feel these symptoms probably at a milder degree for a short amount of time and they would only feel these symptoms if they stand up too fast. For your comment, I feel like if it happens so often it would definitely be something to be concerned about and you should look into POTS more.3
- Memory ConditionIn Disability FAQs·16 March 2024Hi, my name is Bella and I have a rare neurological disease that causes memory loss. I just joined my schools track team and made a ton of new friends but I can’t remember their names and I’m having trouble matching faces to names. In addtion I also struggle to keep up with assignments and I am failing a class right now. My siblings have straight A’s and I have a F and a couple C’s. I feel like I’m not good enough. Any tips on improving my confidence? Love you and have an amazing day! 🩷🩷2386

- How to deal with autism, tics and maniac episodesIn Neurodivergent Corner!·3 December 2023Hi folks, Hi folks,I am a 15-year-old girl who recently got diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. I was wondering if any of you guys have tips on how to cope with life, especially when you're going through something.(Note: I do have Bipolar Disorder, so I don't know the line between Autism and Bipolar. It could be that I'm confusing the two, not knowing where to draw a line. I am in a manic episode while describing this.)I just lost my dad. One month before that, I was officially diagnosed with Autism. After masking the crap for as long as I lived, 'refinding' myself was my next job because I don't know about you guys, but masking is hella exhausting. Learning that things (which I thought were weird) were, in fact, normal for autistic people. Tics are a thing in real life, and not just something in movies. While I was still processing this, my dad died.Since he died, I have been in a manic episode, and my tics have become worse and way more frequent.Though I know that tics are okay and respected, I'm still scared to just not hold them in or do it silently and feel bad. I have received a lot of comments from people saying I "behave more autistic" than I did before my diagnosis. And I have the feeling that just ticcing will make people's reactions worse. The point of this very long, confusing story (sorry guys :( ) is: does anyone have tips on how to handle the Autism, the manic episode, and the tics? Yours sincerely, Gandalf23209
- Possible chronic illnesses. In Chronic Illness Club·8 January 2024For a little over a year I have been getting dizzy spells where I can't stand up without immediately collapsing and I don't know what to do. It started one day as far as I can remember when I got "stuck" standing because I couldn't bend my knees without falling. I usually get dizzy when standing for a long time or after standing up from sitting. My heart rate is usually over 115 bpm when I feel this way. It is also higher when I stand up then when I exercise. What should I do. I also have one teacher who thinks I'm and I quote concerningly hyper mobile. My knees go far past 180 degrees as well as my elbows and every joint in my hands is hyper mobile and my ankles. Recently my joints have bent cauing me a lot of pain. I don't know if these are related though.23172

- Mobility aid questionsIn Disability FAQs·2 June 2024Hey! My name's Luci. I've been considering the possibility of getting a mobility aid and was wondering if anyone has advice on if I should/which one? Also how would I bring that up to a doctor? I have several mental conditions and several chronic physical ailments, working on a diagnosis now for the physical, but we think it's rheumatoid arthritis because it runs in the family. Anyway I have extreme pain and aching my knees, feet, ankles, elbows, and fingers... The knee problems are the worst and all these problems have been around for years now. Anyway I was thinking of getting a cane or forearm crutches because I can't walk around for long and I'm unsteady because of the pain (I can't do armpit crutches because ive had those in the past and it was painful/cut off circulation). Ive also considered a wheelchair instead for the days it's bad (but not like every day) because my school is MASSIVE and really hard to get around, but I feel like I'm not that disabled and people would think I'm faking it, idk. Also any ideas to help with joint pain or RA would be lovely! EDIT: I have hEDS! :)15112
